Remote mountains. Live traffic. A ship that couldn’t wait.
Six stories behind the locations, the action, and the people who brought OUTSOURCE to the screen.
01 / ON LOCATION
The climb before the camera rolled.
The mountain sequence began long before the first take. With no vehicle access to the remote location, the cast and crew climbed on foot, carrying a Steadicam, camera, lenses, drone, and heavy lighting and grip equipment.
Once at the top, the team rehearsed the action again before filming the complete scene. Every piece of equipment seen in the finished sequence had to make the same climb as the people behind it.

02 / ON LOCATION
A main road. A moment to shoot.
The road sequence brought together a large team, background performers, and even a few chickens. Filming required temporarily holding traffic on a main road, then letting the waiting cars through at the end of every take.
It was a Sunday, but the traffic remained heavy. Each reset meant coordinating the performers and action all over again within the next available window. No animals were harmed during filming.

03 / ON LOCATION
Working on the ship’s clock.
Filmed at one of the busiest ports in the Philippines, this sequence came with a deadline the production could not move: the ship’s scheduled departure.
The crew had only a few days to complete the work while the vessel was docked. The shooting plan had to fit the ship’s operating schedule, making every available hour on board count.

04 / ON LOCATION
Finding Mica. A café erupts.
The search for Mica erupts into a full-scale fight inside a billiards café. The production took over the entire venue, closing its six tables and exclusive bar to stage the sequence.
Three days of rehearsals were followed by three days of filming. The choreography incorporated a billiard cue and ball as improvised weapons, making the setting part of the action.
The stunt team brought exceptional care and professionalism to every movement, going the extra mile to deliver the fight while keeping one another safe.

05 / ON LOCATION
Inside a real jail.
The script called for a jail, and the producers pushed for an authentic location. The production filmed inside a real jail with actual cells, giving the actors an immediate sense of the environment their characters inhabited.
At times, prisoners could be heard in the background, while police and jail officers stopped to watch the shoot. The location’s everyday activity became part of the experience of making the scene.

06 / ON LOCATION
Experience behind the uniform.
The police officers appearing in the film were real officers. Their experience informed the coordination and movement of the sequences, adding authenticity to OUTSOURCE’s gritty world.
The production was made possible with permission from the Philippine National Police. Alongside its action story, OUTSOURCE carries an advocacy for good governance and swift action against crime.
